FORGIVENESS is the foundation of inner peace as well as physical health as it turns out, there’s a LOT riding on our capacity to truly forgive (not just try to understand another) so let’s take this healing step together because it’s not easy as you KNOW…
As a Minister in training for A Course In Miracles we dissect “forgiveness” DEEPLY and I want to share some of what I’ve learned because a LACK of forgiveness is a real killer (literally) and every client I see in my practice benefits from REAL forgiveness practice, not the fake attempt we all learned which appeases “ego” but keeps us stuck in separation, feeling the emotional charge if we’re honest and THIS is what does the damage to us and all those around us without us even knowing!
Thanks to wonderful research at the John Hopkins University modern medicine has been alerted to the damage potential of the insidious nature of negative emotions. “There is an enormous physical burden to being hurt and disappointed,” says Karen Swartz MD, director of the Mood Disorders Adult Consultation Clinic at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Chronic anger puts you into a fight-or-flight mode, which results in numerous changes in heart rate, blood pressure and immune response. Those changes, then, increase the risk of depression, heart disease and diabetes, among other conditions. Forgiveness, however, calms stress levels, leading to improved health.
Forgiveness is not just about saying the words. “It is an active process in which you make a conscious decision to let go of negative feelings whether the person deserves it or not,” Swartz says. As you release the anger, resentment and hostility, you begin to feel empathy, compassion and sometimes even affection for the person who wronged you.
A Course In Miracles says: An unforgiving thought does many things. In frantic action it pursues its goal, twisting and overturning what it sees as interfering with its chosen path. Distortion is its purpose, and the means by which it would accomplish it as well. It sets about its furious attempts to smash reality, without concern for anything that would appear to pose a contradiction to its point of view. Forgiveness, on the other hand, is still, and quietly does nothing. It offends no aspect of reality, nor seeks to twist it to appearances it likes. It merely looks, and waits, and judges not. He who would not forgive must judge, for he must justify his failure to forgive. But he who would forgive himself must learn to welcome truth exactly as it is.
There is a deeper truth at play in our lives that if we’re willing to see WILL hold us in an eternal embrace of peace, love, joy and a sense of connection that erases ALL suffering.
We ALL can experience a life such as this, it simply takes willingness, wanting and curiosity to go deeper into the workings of “mind”. How we see life is through our unique, subjective lens, a product of our early conditioning and CAN be shifted to see the “truth” of perfection that is at the core of this human experience.
I like to say “the world is the victim of the thoughts I think” rather than “I am a victim of the world I see”. One gives back power, the other keeps it away!
Which thought resonates with you, asking yourself the question will take your own journey, wherever you’re at to a deeper level. It will expand your consciousness which is KEY to living a stunning life because UN-consciousness is the enemy of peace!
I’ve created a beautiful guided “Forgiveness Meditation” which I’d like to gift you as we end this year, why not give it a go and GIFT yourself and your family a little peace, the BEST prezzie of all!

It seems hard, and IS hard because we’ve been “programmed” to hold tightly to our ‘pain’, but remember programming is just practised thinking and you CAN practice another thought system, one that brings you indescribable happiness and break free from the hooks of suffering that were never yours to begin with!
